Parish Nursing Vacancy (Part Time) Click Here for details

Parish Nursing supports people and communities to whole person healthcare. We do not do what the NHS does, but aim to complement it, and the one precious thing that the Parish Nurses can offer you is time! Time to let you explain your health issues, time to talk to someone who understands and can offer support – through our staff or volunteers or by connecting you into existing agencies, activities or support groups. This could be in your home or elsewhere. We have a Parish Nurse and a Parish Occupational Therapist and a Parish Mental Health Occupational Therapist as well as unqualified, but DBS checked, volunteers.

Parish Nursing can help tackle health issues in our local community and help reduce isolation, prevent ill-health, deterioration, or oversee recovery by providing additional support to individual carers and groups.

We are interested in the whole person – body, mind and spirit – so if you want prayer support as well, we would be very happy to do that.

Examples of support, but not limited to, include:

  • Support for the physical, mental, social and spiritual health of individuals
  • Health promotion and screening
  • Personal health advice
  • Advocacy support
  • Health education
  • Training and supporting of volunteers
  • Help with understanding medical information, diseases and conditions
  • Increasing and maintaining safety and independence in the home
  • Prayer

Support from Capel Parish Nurses is available to anyone living in and around Capel St Mary regardless of age, background or beliefs.
